In some circumstances, though the groom’s family are kind enough to drop the idea of getting dowry, the society has made it a compulsion for the bride’s family to send the bride along with the dowry. For a newly married couple, dowry is considered to be a part of their personal finance that can be utilized at times of financial crisis. It acts as a financial reserve to help in the improvement of their status in the society.
