You have chosen a most rewarding career as an event planner. There are ample chances of growth and earning in event planning, if you are serious and sincere. It requires your efforts of mind, consistency and commitment
 
Thus, if you wish to be a successful event planner, you must follow these steps:
 
1. Understand Goal and Objective of Events
 
The client, who is approaching to organise his/her event, may have some specific purpose. You must understand his need. Your client should get the service what he/she expects from you. This will ensure his happiness and enhancement of your work.
 
2. Organise Your Team
 
The event planning succeeds when the event is accomplished successfully. It requires a team work. You need to organise and handle the team efficiently and perfectly in a manner that all the attendees of the event have only praise for you. So, the various tasks related to event such as venue management, speakers, entertainment activities, publicity, sponsorship etc. must be organised meticulously. If you follow the check list, you will not miss anything. 
 
3. Market Your Event Planning Skill
 
Be aware that most of the attendees take note of every minute detail available in the event.  This is the time to market your event planning skill. So, give a dynamic theme to the event planned by you. Give a short, attractive and memorable name and appropriate tag line. Get a unique logo designed for the event. These all steps will be noticed by the people and your clients will be multiplied in number. 
 
4. Finalise Administrative Process
 
The event planning requires that you must keep track of all the information related to the event. This task may be done manually or with the help of software specially made for it. You may set reminders in your smart phone for the various activities related to a particular event. 
 
5. Partnerships & Sponsors
 
You may have collaboration with some service provider such as caterers, decorators etc. They affect your event planning profession by increasing the costs to their services; but they will also spread/market your business in one or the other ways. 
 
At the same time some sponsors of the event will also add success to your events by providing their goods or services in the form of door prize, table flowers, gift bags, photography etc. You need to take care of these things.
 
6. Be Within the Budget
 
There come circumstances when you need to spend out of plan or estimate in an event. So, you must keep some amount of money in reserve for sudden expenses. This must be part of your master plan. 
 
7. Evaluate the Process at End
 
Your overall success depends on the happiness and satisfaction of the attendees of the event. So, you must evaluate the success of your event planning skill at the end. Because, if any shortcoming is noticed, that may be removed in the next event planned. 
 
You may get a feedback forms distributed to the attendees and their feedback may be asked. Their feedback is of much value for you because you will come to know where the improvement is needed. This is related to particularly shortcomings. The praiseworthy feedbacks will result in morale boost up to you and your partners as well as sponsors.
