Special food styles of Himachali marriage

Himachal Pradesh being located in hilly region of North India offers wide variety of cuisines for marriages. A fulfilling marriage takes place only when the invitees are treated with grand feast. The bride and the groom’s family take enough care in presenting a good meal to the guests and it is their duty to please them.
 
How to treat the guests?
 
The friends and relatives of the couple’s family accept the wedding invitation and make their presence for the auspicious event. They bless the couple whole heartedly and make the marriage successful. It is mandatory to reciprocate their good deeds of the guests and serve them with grand feast.

The bride and groom’s family must sit together and discuss about the recipes without any conflicts in order to decide the menu at the earliest. The preparations start a day before the marriage, making it better to taste. Copper vessels are widely used and they prepare energy giving food. Cleanliness is given utmost importance. The chefs serve the food in leaf plates one by one. Mostly the guests are made to sit on mats in the floor. Suitable arrangements are made for water storage.
 
Other food varieties
 
There are other recipe which includes kangri dham cooked by adding curd without base vegetables of onion and tomatoes. This enhances the blood sugar level. Also fermented food is liked by people who do not prefer spices. The menu includes sweets made of paneer and dal jol fulfilling marriage feast.
 
Precautionary measures
 
Financial reserve might help in case of emergency conditions when there is shortage of food.  This might give rise to conflicts between the couple’s family. In such a situation, simple fermented dish prepared with curd and roti is served.
