Vedic Astrology Rules for Marriage

Marriage and relationships are the most sought after questions to the astrologers, counsellors and palmists since a marriage can make or mar a person’s financial, physical and emotional well-being. Like the saying goes “Prevention is better than cure”, it is better to avoid the consequences of a conflicting marriage by matching the horoscopes for relationship compatibility. Vedic astrology shows strong and significant clues about the timing and success of a person’s marriage. It is a very effective science in predicting people’s destiny. The basic principle of Vedic astrology is the karma theory, i.e., one’s planetary influences are based on his past life deeds. This karmic path can also be changed through various events in a person’s life and the timing of their occurrence. Following a path indicated by Vedic astrology helps people guide through many aspects of life such as career, profession, finance, marriage, romantic relationships, etc.

Janma Kundali

Janma Kundali or Birth horoscope is the astrological chart of a person at the time of his birth. This originated in India and till date is used to make important forecasts about aspects such as wealth, fortune, marriage, death, etc. It contains 12 houses, with each one being governed by a different lord. The 7th house is the house of marriage or spouse. Till date, there is a popular tradition in India of matching the janma kundali before marriage. There are many online janma kundali matching sites that help you calculate your marriage compatibility free of cost.

Rashi or Nakshatra

Another popular type of chart used by Vedic astrologers is the Rashi chart. The Indian name for this type of chart is Nakshatras. Traditionally there were 27 Nakshatras. These Nakshatras are generally categorized under three subheads - Rakshasa (Demonic) Nara (human) and Deva (divine). The effects of a specific planet located in a Rashi are studied for defining the fortunate times for marriage. These charts are used in combination with other astrological charts to predict aspects such as healthy relationships, secret affairs, compatibility, etc. Vedic astrology later on adopted the house system also. House system consists of 12 Bhavas or houses that explain many aspects of our lives. They portray various aspects such as feelings, physical appearance, sills, traits, etc.

Parameters for a happy married life

An analysis of the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th and 7th and 12th houses is done to ensure that they are strong and their lords are well placed. Following aspects are studied by an astrologer-
